Rototom Sunsplash brings together two spaces with different rules: the concert arena and the campsite. Access conditions for the arena are stricter than those for the campsite, so what you can bring with you depends on which of the two you are entering.
Audiences may be searched on entry. You can leave and re-enter the arena as many times as you like within opening hours, and there are free drinking water points in both the concert area and the campsite.
Food and drink may not be brought into the festival arena, with these four exceptions:
Access with alcoholic drinks and with bags full of food is specifically prohibited, in order to safeguard food safety and to uphold the ban on alcohol consumption by minors.
You may take photos and videos for strictly personal use.
Flying drones at the festival is not permitted. The airspace above the site is restricted, which means drones cannot be flown even if you hold a licence.
Motor vehicles of any kind are not allowed inside the arena. Scooters and bicycles may only be used until 20.00.
Pets are not admitted to the arena. The single exception is set out below.
At the campsite there is no closed list of items: the rule is that no object the organiser considers dangerous, or that is prohibited under current legislation, will be admitted. On top of that general rule come the campsite's own prohibitions, nearly all of them to do with fire.
In the free camping areas and in the reserved tent pitches you may only camp with a tent: vehicles are not allowed. Campervans and vehicles equipped for sleeping may only stay in the Camper Zone.
Each camping area has a marquee with ceramic hobs and sinks, free to use, open from 8.00 to 24.00. Maximum time per user is 40 minutes, and very large pots are not accepted.
To safeguard the safety of everyone attending and the welfare of the animals themselves, pets are not admitted anywhere at the festival. Guide dogs for people with visual impairments and medical assistance dogs for diabetes and epilepsy are admitted, provided the handler carries at all times the animal's documentation and training certificate issued by an officially accredited training centre -ONCE, ACEPADE, the Spanish Red Cross, ADI or IGDF- and the animal remains leashed and under control at all times. No other exception is made.
These rules exist so that thousands of people can share the same space safely for six days. The organiser may refuse entry or ask anyone who does not respect them to leave the site, and in that case the ticket price is not refunded.
Both the campsite and the arena have lockers where you can keep your valuables safe, along with a device charging service. Access to and presence on the site is at the attendee's own risk: the organiser is not liable for any loss or theft that may occur.
Everything that governs the relationship between the organiser and those attending is set out in full in the terms of sale and access to the festival site, and the campsite's specific rules in the campsite rules.
